I don't know any family that buys 3 copies of a game so all 3 people in the house can play unless the absolutely have to. I would go to friends houses and play their games. I shared my PS2 and GC games with my brother and sister.
However, everyone I ever met, that plays games, shares those games. I know in your narrow little world where everyone has access to the same stuff it is hard to understand why people might find this stuff useful but their are other reasons besides handing out free copies of games to want a DRM-free version. Not saying I never buy stuff with DRM it, or that is a major deal that a game has DRM but it is nice to not have to deal with it sometimes. So to me DRM-free is a selling point because I know I can bring these things back home with me and not waste the expensive data on my families plans. Sometimes when I'm out in those areas where my family still lives it is nice to be able to put my games on a flash drive and bring them with me. I have a few games that I bought that I cannot play because of losing CD keys.
I have lived in small towns where high speed internet connections are not available and where the only way to get internet is with bad wifi that has high data costs.

Nobody is playing games on a PC that can't connect to the internet, get real (connect at least enough to download, install, and then play offline if the connection is severed). Nobody needs an installer for a game when they can download it anytime and nobody that's actually playing games and posting on the internet is going to be without a connection enough for this to really be an issue - if you're that far out in the back woods you're not going to be playing video games, you're going to be hunting and gathering like a frickin' cave man.
